We planned on ordered apps, dinners and dessert and everyone is starving now we have been here 45 minutes and we just order dinner. So we finally get seated I have no idea who our server is 3 people came to our table to take our drink order we all ordered cocktails. 5 people cannot see that? When I ask where we could be seated closer ohhh that took another 10 minutes to figure out again let me remind you it’s not busy almost every table is available. Now I do not use a cane cause it’s cool I hobble. As we pass 20 tables they seat us in the farthest table you could possible seat someone. We are a table of 5 and the restraint is not busy yet and I use a cane. We walk in and there is 5 people heads down looking at what I think maybe a seating chart. This was one of my favorite restaurants and sadly I will not return. The table service was timely and well balanced between keeping the food warm and ready and the drinks ample. It was all very good, even better when you can also watch snowplows trudging along in Schaumburg-Chicago traffic. For the main course, having enjoyed the fritters so much I went for seafood chowder (this should be served in all schools/offices/pubs on super-cold days) and caesar salad (to relieve the fritter guilt and round out the palate). The flavour plays nicely with a robust red wine and you'll order more of both win-win. The fritters set the mood as a natural for a very cold day or a very hot day. I quickly selected a good US red wine and some conch fritters to start the event. I was quickly seated by a young woman somewhat surprised I wanted to sit in the slightly drafty boat house - BESIDE THE FIRE! thank you. "Done deal!" as my broker says (he doesn't mean that literally, I don't know what he means as I keep losing money.) On to the lunch. What stood out about Bahama Breeze was the energetic fire burning away in a tropical-looking enclosure whilst I was freezing my butt off outside. For the closing days of January my theme would have to be "your kidding! - you think of a beach while the snowplows box you in." Such was the case in the Chicago area as I looked for a decent lunch and an excuse to stay inside longer.
